About Us

Rafter 7 Ranch

The Chute family has been in the horse business for over 40 years. We have experience with rodeo, team penning, large cow/calf operation, as well as raising and racing Thoroughbreds, running chuckwagons, and a large scale Belgian breeding operation. Dwayne has done most everything off the back of a horse, including management of a large feed lot operation.   Back in the 90’s Dwayne guided in the Bull Mountains of Montana, where he saw first hand the value of a good riding and pack mule.

Our foundation quarter horse breeding program focuses on bringing back those qualities required to produce that all around ranch horse that can do that 50 mile circle in the pasture. We believe you can and should have horses that can do it all, ranch work, pleasure riding, competitive riding.  Willing partners with great bone structure, strength and stamina, who can get the job done, and also go to 4H with the kids.

Our mule program utilizes Mammoth Jacks and the same foundation AQHA mares used in our horse program.  Mules have longevity, versatility and are superior to horses in many ways.  Anything you can do off the back of a horse, can be done off the back of a mule.

We breed intelligent, versatile working ranch stock. Our herd has been carefully selected and handpicked from some of the best ranches in the U.S.A. We are proud to offer these bloodlines in Canada.
